The Chapel of Souls is one of Porto’s most photographed landmarks, renowned for its approximately 16,000 blue and white tiles installed in 1929, depicting scenes from the lives of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Catherine. Located on Rua de Santa Catarina, near Bolhão, it combines neoclassical architecture with revivalist tile tradition. Founded in the 18th century, it remains an active place of worship and a tourist attraction. Free to enter, it can be visited daily and is ideal to include in a walking tour of Porto’s downtown, exploring nearby shops and heritage.
